Our Beliefs
The Foundation of our Faith
We believe that the Bible is the written revelation of God.
We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the text of the original manuscripts of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, such that even the choice of words of the writers was carefully guided by the Holy Spirit, which alone constitutes the inerrant Word of God.
We believe that the Bible is the clear, sufficient, supreme, and final authority for all belief (faith), life, practice, and ministry
(2 Tim. 3:16–17; Heb. 4:12; 1 Cor. 2:7–14; Exod. 17:14; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20–21; 2 Peter 3:1–2; 2 Peter 3:15–16).
He revealed Himself in three (3) distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) but belonging to only one divine essence.
For the purpose of redeeming man from sin, the three persons are co-eternal in being, co-divine in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and co-redemptive, having the same attributes and perfections, thus equally deserving worship and obedience
(Deut. 6:14; Isaiah 45:5–7; 1 Cor. 8:4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Matt. 28:19; John 14:10,26; 1 John 5:7; Rev. 19:10).
He made atonement for the sin of the world by His death on the cross.
We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His high priestly intercession for His people, and His personal, visible return to the world according to His promise.
He is the only means of salvation from sin and the sole mediator between God and man
(John 1:1–2; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Luke 1:35; 2 Cor. 5:19–21; Phil. 2:5–8; Heb. 9:24; Heb. 7:25; John 14:1–3; Acts 4:14; John 14:6).
We believe that all people are by nature and by choice sinners, totally depraved and guilty before God as a result of the fall of Adam.
We commit acts of sins because we are sinners by nature. We believe that salvation is the work of God, it is the gift of God brought to man. Whereby a sinner, by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone, according to the Scriptures alone, receives absolute forgiveness for all sins after true repentance brought about by the conviction of the Holy Spirit upon hearing the gospel.
He also receives righteousness (righteousness of Christ Imputed). Having received grace and mercy in Christ, the sinner while in this life enjoys all the blessings of salvation and is given opportunity to participate in God’s work (The Great Commission).
He will do good works with eternal value for reward, and after death will enjoy the promise of the resurrection of life and eternal bliss in heaven with all the redeemed of all ages in the presence of God and the holy angels.
We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by the power of God (1 Peter 1:5) and are thus secure in Christ forever. God secures their eternal salvation, having sovereignly elected them to be willing recipients of His grace in Christ whose blood was shed for the remission of sins (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; 1 John 5:1; John 10:26–29; Romans 10:13; Eph. 1:13; 2 Cor. 1:22; Romans 8:13–19; 1 Peter 1:3–5; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5–7; John 6:37; Romans 8:1, 38–39).
A. Regeneration It is the Supernatural work of the Holy Spirit by which the divine nature and divine life communicated. It is instantaneous and is accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit upon the sinner’s identity with Christ through faith (John 3:3–7; John 5:24; John 16:8–11).
B. Justification (Salvation from the penalty of sin) It is the act of God by which He declares as righteous those who are in Christ. This righteousness is apart from any virtue or work of man, and involves on the other hand, the imputation of our sins to Christ, and the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to us. Justification is that which God does for us. A person is justified by faith without works. Man is justified not by character or conduct, but by the grace of God as judicial act on the provided ground of Christ’s redemption, as shown by His resurrection. It is appropriated by faith and manifested by works. Justification brings freedom from condemnation, judicial peace, the hope of future glory (Romans 8:33; Romans 3:24; Romans 5:1; 2 Cor. 5:21; Acts 13:38–39; Romans 8:1).
C. Sanctification Sanctification deals with our state, just as justification deals with our standing. In justification, we are declared righteous so that in sanctification we may become righteous. Justification is that which God does for us, while sanctification is largely that which God does in us (Eph. 2:8–9).
Initial Stage (Instantaneous or Immediate) – Positional sanctification is standing morally, holy, and perfect in Christ (Heb. 10:9,10,14), separated or set apart from sin, and separated or set apart unto God (John 17:19; 1 Cor. 1:2).
Progressive Stage (Contemporaneous with the believer’s earth life) – It takes place during the entire life of the believer (1 Peter 1:2; 2 Cor. 7:1; Eph. 4:11–12; 2 Cor. 3:18). Final Stage (Complete – Glorification) – Completed at the coming of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18; 1 John 3:2; Phil. 3:20–21).
D. Glorification (Saved from the presence of sin called unto His eternal glory) This stage has to do with the completion and perfection of the believer’s sanctification. He will then be entire, wanting nothing, like Christ in all things. He will be completely freed from sin and perfected in holiness.
Sanctification begins at the inception of the believer’s salvation, is coextensive with his life on earth, and will reach its climax and perfection when Christ returns at the rapture-glorification (1 Thess. 5:23–24).
We believe that the church (the spiritual body, the spiritual bride of the Lord Jesus Christ) is solely made up of born-again believers saved by the grace of God alone, through faith in Christ alone, divinely initiated on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) by the Holy Spirit and which will be completed at the time of the rapture.
A portion of this spiritual body is already “asleep in Christ”, waiting for the resurrection of the body but whose souls and spirits are already with Christ in heaven (2 Cor. 5:1–10). Others are still in this world (John 17:14–16) in fellowship with the believers in their local Christian churches (under many names and denominational identities in many countries and cultures in the world but united in their beliefs and practices that are identical with those of the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ).
Still others are yet to be saved through the missionary and evangelistic programs of the local churches (John 17:20–21) until that time when the body is completed and the bride is ready for the rapture (1 Thess. 4:13–18; 2 Thess. 2:6–8). We believe that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ is immediately baptised by the Holy Spirit into one body, the church (1 Cor. 12:12–13), of which Christ is the head (Eph. 1:22; Col. 1:18).
We believe that the purpose of the church is to glorify God and that the local church is responsible in fulfilling the Great Commission. It must observe the ordinances (the believer’s baptism and the Lord’s supper), foster true fellowship, prayer and worship, edify and equip believers, and evangelise the world (Eph. 3:21; 2 Tim. 2:2,15; 2 Tim. 3:16–17; Acts 2:42; 1 John 1:3; Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8).
We believe that the only mode of baptism is immersions, that Biblical baptism is for believers only, that it is a testimony of their identity, by faith with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
We believe that the Lord’s supper is the commemoration and proclamation of Christ’s death until He comes (1 Cor. 11:23–26).
Jesus replied,
“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind….
and Love your neighbor as yourself”
Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT)
